Stonehouse Villa is doing everything possible to keep our couples and their friends, family and hired vendors safe. This page will be updated with current guidelines and mandates for clarity on expectations when attending an event at Stonehouse Villa. This page is intended for accurate and current Covid-19 information related to wedding and events under guidelines set by the State of Texas and Hays County.

Ceremony Requirements:

  • Ensure proper spacing between attendees:

    • Maintain at least two empty seats (or six feet separation) between groups in any row, except as follows:

      • Two or more members of the same household can sit adjacent to one another, with two seats (or six feet separation) empty on either side.​

      • Two individuals who are not members of the same household, but who are attending together can sit adjacent to one another, with two seats (or six feet separation) empty on either side.

      • Alternate rows between patrons (every other row left empty), as appropriate. --> Stonehouse Villa has spaced ceremony rows apart that does not require every other row left empty. 

  • Designate an area at the venue for the at-risk population --> Stonehouse Villa is designating room under the tented deck for at-risk guests to view the ceremony away from other guests. Please notify Stonehouse Villa for requested seating.

  • Guests within the at-risk category are strongly encouraged to watch or participate in the service remotely. --> Consider live-streaming the ceremony, or having someone record the ceremony on a phone, tablet or camera if not hiring a professional videographer.

Reception Requirements:


  • Groups must maintain at least 6 feet of distance from other groups at all times, including while waiting to be seated at the reception.

  • Make hand sanitizing station available upon entry to the reception.

  • Dining / Catering:

    • Do not leave condiments, silverware, flatware, glassware, or other traditional table top items on an unoccupied table. --> If choosing to have place settings on reception tables indoors the indoor reception hall will be closed for entry until dinner service is about to begin.

    • Provide condiments only upon request, and in single use (non-reusable) portions.​

    • ​Use disposable menus (new for each patron)

    • If a buffet is offered, catering must serve the food to attendees.

Stonehouse Villa Protocols To Help Ensure Your Safety --

  • Venue will be clean and sanitized upon arrival.

  • We will be cleaning and disinfecting the venue prior to any event. Venue staff will be frequently sanitizing commonly touched surfaces during the event (hand railings, door knobs, restroom knobs, etc).

  • Following Texas Government and Hays County regulations on the spacing of ceremony benches, dining tables and chairs.

  • We have the ability to host an indoor reception for up to 200 socially distanced seated with dance floor space or an outdoor tented reception for up to 130 socially distanced with dance floor space, which is decided upon by the client. If going over these numbers layout will not be considered socially distanced.

  • If dinner and/or dancing is hosted indoors we will be requiring certain doors to remain open for the event for proper air filtration.

  • We're strongly encouraging clients to have assigned tables for dinner to keep household groups seated together, as well as strongly encouraging tables to be socially distanced.

  • Masks: All venue staff and outside client hired vendors are required to wear a mask at all times. Vendors handling food or drink are required to wear gloves. While masks are no longer mandated within the state of Texas, we are still requiring guests to wear a mask when going through food buffet lines. It is up to the couple to determine where and when they want to require mask wearing for guests, but we strongly encourage and recommend masks to be worn at anytime when indoors (unless seated at dining table) to keep your guests and vendors safe!!

  • We will have designated safe areas reserved for any at-risk guest who is attending.  Please pre-request if needed, or notify a staff member upon arrival if possible.

    • Ceremony:​ Chairs set up under tent away from other guests, completely shaded.

    • Cocktail Hour: Lounge area in front foyer is 100% reserved for any at-risk guest away from other lounge areas.

    • Dinner: Separate dining table and chairs can be set up away from other dining guests either in front foyer, cocktail hall or outside under tented reception deck upon request.

  • Client hired catering team is required to follow TX Health Guidelines for serving food, such as serving guests at the buffet and eliminating any self-service stations.

  • Coordinator or DJ should be releasing tables if client is having a food buffet to ensure one table at a time is standing in line together. 

  • We will have wall mounted hand sanitizer stations for guests use at main foyer door, cocktail bar, main reception foyer door and reception bar.

  • We will have an acknowledgment sign upon entry to the venue reminding guests of safety precautions and assuming the risks with attending event.


Stonehouse Villa is Recommending Client to --

  • ​​Provide seating chart for reception dinner to keep families and guests attending the wedding grouped together. 

  • Provide hand sanitizer, or disinfecting wipes at guestbook table if guests are sharing a pen, or anywhere else in the venue where guests could possible be touching the same item.

  • Provide disposable one time use masks for guests incase they do not bring their own and are needed for buffet lines, etc.

  • We strongly recommend providing guests red, yellow and green wrist bands to determine their comfort level with interacting with other guests.

  • We advise against bringing in lawn games and photo booth props at this time, unless having a photo booth company with an attendant to ensure safety protocols are being followed.

Stonehouse Villa is Requiring Guests to --


  • Guests must self-screen prior to entry for new signs or symptoms of possible COVID-19. If having come into contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid-19 within the last two weeks we highly recommend not attending unless tested negative. If feeling ill or have a temperature of or above 100.0°F please do not attend. If able, we recommend getting a rapid result COVID-19 test prior to attending the event or self quarantining the two weeks leading up to the event. (Rapid result tests can be conducted for anyone not experiencing symptoms for free with insurance, or for a fee without insurance at multiple locations.)

  • We strongly recommend for any at-risk guest, or guests over the age of 65 with health conditions to not attend the wedding if possible and participate remotely. If deciding to attend - assume the risks and keep distance from other groups, including during ceremony and dinner.

  • Guests must practice good hygiene by frequently washing hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and water, especially after touching frequently used items or surfaces, or use hand sanitizer.

  • Guests must cough or sneeze into a tissue, or the inside of your elbow.

  • Guests must practice social distancing and maintain at least 6 feet of distance from other groups, unless with the same household or 'group'.

  • Guests must maintain social distancing when waiting in line for drinks at the bar or food buffet.

  • Guests are not permitted to enter indoor reception hall prior to the start of the reception in order to ensure dining tables, chairs, decor, etc. is not touched by a guest that is not sitting at that particular table or chair.

  • Masks are no longer mandated in Texas, but we still strongly encourage mask wearing over the nose and mouth when indoors.

  • Masks are required over the nose and mouth when going through food buffet lines.

Stonehouse Villa is Requiring Vendors to --

  • Vendors must self-screen prior to entry for new signs or symptoms of possible COVID-19. If having come into contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid-19 within the last two weeks we highly recommend not working unless having tested negative. If feeling ill or have a temperature of or above 100.0°F please do not work and find a suitable replacement. If able, we recommend getting a rapid result COVID-19 test prior to working the event.

  • Vendors must wash hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and water immediately upon entry to the venue. Please maintain hand washing, or using hand sanitizer throughout the event, especially after interactions with guests.

  • Vendors must wear a mask over the nose and mouth during the full event.

  • Vendors handling food or beverage must wear gloves while handling food/beverage or serving guests.

  • Vendors must know the appropriate way to wear a face covering, proper hand hygiene, cough etiquette, cleanliness and sanitation and practice all rigorously.

  • Vendors must disinfect anything that the guests come into contact with.

  • Vendors must maintain at least 6 feet of separation from other vendors and guests of the wedding.

  • Catering: 

    • Staff must serve all food and beverages to guests (this includes appetizer table, water station, buffet service, food stations, or plated meal). Staff should wear mask and gloves while handling food and serving food to guests. Staff must only allow guest to touch the plate at the end of the buffet when handing guest their plate.

    • Make sure guests are wearing a mask when in line for the food buffet.

  • - Thermal Temperature Scanning & On-Site Rapid COVID-19 Testing w/ Medical Personnel

  • - Interactive Face Shields for Dance Party

  • Client can opt to have temperature checks performed for guests upon entry to the venue.

  • Rapid Result testing is available all around Travis and Hays County if wanting all guests to be tested prior to event. This testing is only for people not showing symptoms and is free with insurance and is charged a fee without. 

**We recommend to self-quarantine 2 weeks leading up to the wedding day, especially for the couple, any important family members, or wedding party.
