Last Updated: 7/16/2020 @ 2PM

Stonehouse Villa is doing everything possible to keep our couples and their friends, family and hired vendors safe. This page will be updated frequently with current guidelines and mandates for clarity on expectations when attending an event at Stonehouse Villa. We understand that things are changing frequently and it's difficult to know when those changes could pertain to changes for your upcoming event. This page is intended for accurate and current Covid-19 information related to wedding and events under guidelines set by the State of Texas and Hays County.

We look forward to your upcoming event!

Current TX State-Wide Requirements for Wedding Venues:

Ceremony Requirements:

  • Ensure proper spacing between attendees:

    • Maintain at least two empty seats (or six feet separation) between groups in any row, except as follows:

      • Two or more members of the same household can sit adjacent to one another, with two seats (or six feet separation) empty on either side.

      • Two individuals who are not members of the same household, but who are attending together can sit adjacent to one another, with two seats (or six feet separation) empty on either side.

      • Alternate rows between patrons (every other row left empty), as appropriate. --> Stonehouse Villa has spaced ceremony rows apart that does not require every other row left empty.

  • Designate an area at the venue for the at-risk population --> Stonehouse Villa is designating room under the tented deck for at-risk guests to view the ceremony away from other guests. Please notify Stonehouse Villa for requested seating.

  • Guests within the at-risk category are strongly encouraged to watch or participate in the service remotely. --> Consider live-streaming the ceremony, or having someone record the ceremony on a phone, tablet or camera if not hiring a professional videographer.

Reception Requirements:

  • Reception services held indoors are limited to 50% of the facility's total listed occupancy. Vendors are not counted towards 50% occupancy limitation. --> Current Stonehouse Villa indoor capacity limit: 160

  • Reception services held outdoors are strongly recommended and are not subject to an occupancy limit. --> Stonehouse Villa can comfortably social distance around 120 seated under our tented reception deck.

  • All vendors and guests must wear a face covering (over the nose and mouth) wherever it is not feasible to maintain six feet of social distancing from another individual not in the same household.

  • Groups must maintain at least 6 feet of distance from other groups at all times, including while waiting to be seated at the reception.

  • Make hand sanitizing station available upon entry to the reception.

  • No tables of more than 10 people.

  • Dining / Catering:

    • Do not leave condiments, silverware, flatware, glassware, or other traditional table top items on an unoccupied table.

    • Provide condiments only upon request, and in single use (non-reusable) portions.

    • Use disposable menus (new for each patron)

    • If a buffet is offered, catering must serve the food to attendees.

Please Note: The City of Austin & Travis County regulations DO NOT apply for Stonehouse Villa. Stonehouse Villa is located in Hays County outside of any city limits. There is current confusion circulating about Travis County's current ban of outdoor gatherings of more than 10 people (posted: 7/2/20) limiting wedding guest counts and that information is false. Weddings happening in Travis County are exempt by this mandate.

Stonehouse Villa is providing for events:

  • A clean and sanitized venue upon arrival.

  • A designated safe seating area reserved for the at-risk guests in front foyer, as well as designated safe seating area reserved for the ceremony under our tented deck. (Upon request we can also set up a private dining area for any at-risk population away from others.)

  • Providing wall mounted hand sanitizer stations at main entrances.

  • Following Texas Government and Hays County regulations on the spacing of ceremony benches, dining tables and chairs, including how many can sit max per table.

  • All doors will remain open for full event, including all reception hall doors while guests are inside at all times.

  • On site-manager is regularly cleaning and disinfecting hand railings, door knobs, and restrooms.

  • 6 Foot distance markers on floor at both bars and food buffet area.

  • Providing visible signage to remind guests of best hygiene practices in restrooms.

Stonehouse Villa Client & Guest Protocols:

  • All guests and hired vendors must self-screen prior to entry for new or worsening signs or symptoms of possible COVID-19. If having come into contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid-19 within the last two weeks we highly recommend not attending.

  • Recommend to at-risk guests, or guests over the age of 65 with health conditions to not attend the wedding if possible. If attending to assume the risks and keep distance from other groups, including ceremony and dinner.

  • All guests must practice social distancing and maintain at least 6 feet of distance from other groups.

  • Guests must maintain social distancing when waiting in line for drinks at the bar or food buffet using designated 6 foot markers on floor.

  • Guests must practice good hygiene by frequently washing hands or using hand sanitizer.

  • Guests must wear a mask over their nose and mouth upon entry to the venue, when using the restroom, when getting drinks from the bar, food from buffet and any other time spent indoors. Masks are not required when eating, drinking or if outdoors.

  • Client must ensure their vendors are following certain protocols. All vendors must wear a mask at all times over nose and mouth. Catering and Bartending must wear gloves when handling food/beverage for guest consumption.
